Discover why parents and students love us
Mira Mesa Presbyterian Preschool is purposefully serving the needs of young children and those responsible for their growth within a Christian setting. The first five years are the most informative years in a child’s entire development. Our curriculum is to support their growth as individuals as well as members of our preschool family.
Our curriculum goes beyond books
We offer an environment in which your child feels safe to practice social skills and to learn to solve conflicts constructively. We help your child develop competency and self-worth through:
Knowing God as a creator and friend.
Learning more about her/himself.
Discovering the world through literature, art, music, gardening, and more.
Developing a life-long joy in learning through hands-on experience.
Learning to get along with others.
Growing mentally, emotionally, socially, spiritually, physically, and cognitively through reading and writing readiness activities.
What we teach in our preschool
Our curriculum gets students mentally and physically engaged with hands-on learning to build, imagine, and explore lessons and topics.
Express thoughts and feelings through painting and creating.
Discover and experiment with hands-on science activities.
Improve social skills, self-esteem, vocabulary, and problem-solving.
Enhance listening and creative skills through rhythms and beats.
Build vocabulary, comprehension, and enjoyment of literature.
Engage in a group to share thoughts, ideas, and observations to grow social and attention skills.
Gross Motor Skills
Put imagination and muscles in motion. Run, jump, skip, climb, and explore.
Fine Motor Skills
Train small muscles and hand-eye coordination with puzzles, crayons, and scissors.
Investigate and explore different textures and properties of substances.
Learn compare-and-contrast, cooperation, and cause-and-effect concepts.
Student and families always come first
Mira Mesa Presbyterian Preschool has proudly been serving the Mira Mesa community since September 1977 and was built on these core principles that we proudly uphold today:
Raise our students so that they may appreciate their childhood learning and experience.
Effectively apply our child development knowledge into every classroom.
Understand and support children in a familial, cultural, and societal context.
Respect individuals’ worth and uniqueness, and pass that lesson onto our students.
Bringing together families through trust, respect, and positivity.
Licensed staff invested in your child’s success
The teachers and staff at MMPP are trained, early childhood educators. Each member meets the State of California’s Preschool requirements and are CPR & First Aid certified. With years of experience, MMPP staff provide the best educational experience.
Close attention to your child’s needs and growth
At MMPP, we understand that each student is unique. Our small class sizes lets our teachers focus on giving each student individualized attention to help them learn and reach goals. We encourage children to explore, ask questions, be creative, and to make choices and decisions.
Families get involved with learning at our school
Our students love to show what they have been learning at school. We host plenty of events for you and the family to visit and be a part of your child’s journey in education.
